New York fashion week: day 1

First day of the NYFW. Coming back to New York was such a beautiful emotion, I really missed this city.

Just woke up, after breakfast, I headed to Lincoln Center, location where most of the fashion shows take place. My first show ever was Mara Hoffman. The collection was inspired by Hawaii and it was cheerful and colorful. Magenta, coral and sand colors have been the most widely used. I really liked the multi color cording applique caftans and the beaded jungle jackets.

After the Mara Hoffman show I went to Times Square for some quick shopping. I bought the Forever XXI necklace that you can see in photos, isn’t it cute?

The second and last fashion show of the day was Tibi, where I also had the opportunity to enter the backstage.

After wearing Tibi clothes for two years, it has been wonderful to watch the fashion show. Amy Smilovic never disappoints and this time she chose white and black palette, lean silhouettes, and perforated details. Love the street-chic details, like the cropped tops and the denim jackets.

After the show I went to have dinner with some friends (including Nicoletta and Camilla) at the Chelsea Market. If you have the chance to go there, try the “The Lobster Place”, the lobsters are just amazing!

After dinner we went to have a drink on the top of the Gransevoort hotel, such an amazing view!

Primo giorno di NYFW. Inutile dire l’emozione che ho provato appena atterrata a New York, città che avevo visto solo una volta ormai sei anni fa. Una delle città più belle del mondo a mio parere.

Appena svegliata, dopo aver fatto colazione, mi sono diretta al Lincoln Center, location dove si svolgono la maggior parte delle sfilate. La mia prima sfilata in assoluto è stata Mara Hoffman. La collezione s’ispirava alle Hawaii ed era allegra e colorata. Magenta corallo e sabbia sono state le tinte più utilizzate. Splendidi i caftani multi color.

Dopo la sfilata di Mara Hoffman sono andata in Times Square a fare un giretto per negozi. Ho comprato una gonna e la collana che vedete in foto di Forever XXI, non è carinissima?

Sono poi stata alla sfilata di Tibi, dove ho avuto la possibilità di accedere al backstage.

Dopo aver indossato per due anni i vestiti di questo marchio è stato stupendo poter assistere alla sfilata. Amy Smilovic non delude mai e questa volta gioca su una palette di bianchi e di neri. Splendidi i dettagli perforati sui vestiti in pelle e le scelte street-chic come i cropped top e il denim.

La sera sono poi andata a mangiare con alcuni amici (tra cui Nicoletta e Camilla) al Chelsea Market. Nel caso vi capitaste di andare, provate le aragoste freschissime del “The Lobster place”, sono qualcosa di incredibile!

Abbiamo concluso la serata andando a bere qualcosa all’ultimo piano del Gransevoort hotel dove si può godere di una vista mozzafiato :)
