Here I am, back after two wonderful days spent in Paris with Louis Vuitton. Two days during which all of us felt cuddled and welcomed as true members of the family.

It’s this family which allowed us the honor of visiting the Maison de Famille Vuitton, the perfect secret place, where the travels of this family and brand begun. Bought by Louis Vuitton himself more than 150 years ago, it has been kept as a dreamy, nineteenth-century “art noveau” residence, where you can still breathe the family memories and you can feel at home.

In the above storeys all of the timeless and eternal LV trunks are made, together with every custom made order for the most important clients and some other leather goods.

The thing which struck me the most is the incredible care and attention to details paid on each product, which is made with the same hand-crafting techniques introduced so many years ago. The brand values are still the same as those of its founder. In 1835, after moving to Paris, Louis Vuitton continued his career as trunk-maker for the empress Eugenie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III. To this day, even for custom made orders, LV’s only goal is to create trunks, cases and bags able to protect the items of their clients during their travels.

How could one keep themselves from falling in love with the extraordinary world of Louis Vuitton?

Due giorni da sogno trascorsi a Parigi per Louis Vuitton. Due giorni durante i quali io e gli altri blogger ci siamo sentiti coccolati e accolti come dei veri e propri membri della famiglia.

Ed è proprio questa famiglia che ci ha concesso l’onore di visitare la Maison de Famille Vuitton, il secret place per eccellenza, il luogo dov’è iniziato il grande viaggio. Acquistata dallo stesso Louis Vuitton più di 150 anni fa, ancora oggi in questa cornice ottocentesca in pieno stile “art noveau” si possono respirare i ricordi della famiglia Vuitton e ci si può sentire veramente a casa.

Nei piani alti della maison vengono creati gli eterni ed intramontabili bauli di LV, oltre a tutti gli ordini custom made dei clienti più importanti ed alcuni altri prodotti di pelletteria.

Ciò che mi ha lasciato a bocca aperta è la cura e la precisione nei minimi dettagli di ogni pezzo, prodotto utilizzando le stesse tecniche artigianali introdotte tanti anni fa. I valori sono rimasti gli stessi, ossia quelli di Louis Vuitton stesso. Nel 1835, dopo essersi trasferito a Parigi, egli proseguì la sua carriera preparando le valigie dell’imperatrice Eugenia de Montijo, moglie di Napoleone III. Ancora oggi LV, anche negli ordini custom made, ha l’unico obiettivo di creare bauli, valigie e borse in grado di proteggere gli oggetti dei suoi clienti durante i loro viaggi.
