1° day of Lisbon fashion week

First day of fashion week in a sunny and warm Lisbon. I’ve attended the SayMyName, White Tent, Lidija Kolovrat e Luìs Buchinho fashion shows!

I guess you’ve never heard most of these names before, and I’m glad to be able to show you some of their creations in these pictures. My personal favorites were the first and the last show.

The SayMyName collection is inspired by Samurais. Noble warriors from the Japanese aristocracy, the Samurais were loyal, disciplined and honored servants of the emperor. Their classic armor, the Yoroi, was composed of several important details that served as protection during battles. Reglan sleeves, overplapping plates and cuts above the chest are emphasized and re-developed within the concept in an attempt of reproducing the Sode (shoulder protection) and Do (abdomen protection).

Luis Buchinho was the designer that captured my attention. He proposed oversize blazers worn over bare skin, pleated dresses decorated with geometric patterns, asymmetrical cuts and big sweaters to wear over metallic trousers. I’d like to congratulate this Portuguese designer who is, in my opinion, very talented!

We ended the day with a cocktail at the hotel. This fashion week had a great start, and I can’t wait to tell you everything about the next days. Have a nice week-end guys!

Buon week-end a tutti :)
